As my group arrived at the check in area eagerly awaiting Denali Backcountry Lodge’s first challenging hike of the season, I couldn’t help but smile with anticipation. A small intimate group, just the way you want it. By the time we had crossed over Moose Creek to the edge of the property, our group had felt like we had known each other for years. A small fishing port that one visits on a Glacier Bay, Inside Passage 
A trip to a glacier should be high on the agenda of every Alaska Vacationer! These ancient, massive mountains of dazzlingly blue ice are truly awe-inspiring, and should not be missed! There are lots of different ways to experience glaciers in Alaska, from hiking up to one, to a helicopter glacier landing. Probably the most common way to get up close to an Alaskan Glacier is to take a Glacier Cruise on a smaller ship. A Glacier Cruise will put you up-close and personal with some massive tidewater glaciers, and allow you to spot local wildlife, and sea-life along the way.
