New Half Day Cruise
Let me tell you about a benefit of working in the travel industry – the first to hear about new and exciting tours and adventures. If we are lucky, we get a complimentary ticket. Well that is what I’m excited to talk about today. A new glacier and wildlife tour that includes a courtesy ticket made available to us from Major Marine tours. “Limited Space” and “Book Early” is the standard for everyone, even more so if one of these rare occasions happens by.
It’s been ten years since I’ve gone on a glacier cruise; it was to the Portage Glacier. Back then, you could see the glacier from the visitor’s center. This new tour is going out of Whittier on one of the famous Major Marine wildlife and glacier tours. The tour is in August, so watch the photo gallery and this blog for the report!

Other available activities include beach combing, birding and the ever popular flight seeing. But a little known attraction is the picturesque, 9 hole golf course. Continue reading

The Arctic Ocean, the frigid Baring Sea and the Pacific Ocean also play a major role in the weather system in Alaska. Continue reading
