I walked out of my room that morning to the freshest air, the crispest view of the scenery. I took a picture. I called to my husband, to have a look with me. We just stood there in awe noticing everything from the farthest tree to the dragonflies zooming by. We looked forward to our flightseeing tour in the national park, through the winding valleys of the Alaska Range, and the indescribable vision of Denali herself. It was a flight into the Denali Backcountry Lodge where we stayed for 3 days. We meet some amazing people from all over the world; we went on ATV adventures that were like a dream come true. We saw moose and fox; we saw so many more animals on the trip back on the bus ride.
It was a short adventure that I can’t recommend more. The staff was so friendly, answered our questions, I am sure that they had been asked hundreds of times. Now that we’ve been there we understand what “remote” really means. And the people of the Denali Backcountry Lodge brought some civilization to the wild country in a very unobtrusive way for us to experience.
Thank you,
Jan and Rob Texas

Hi My wife and I are going up there Aug.8th of this year and cannot wait. We booked through Holland America. We are spending 2 days in Denali and then another 8 days touring around the country until we get onto an Holland America Ship for a 4 day Cruise down to Vancouver,Canada. We are spending 2 days there in Vancouver before coming home. We are so very excited about the trip. Did you need everything you packed for your stay? Can you reccomend bringing anything that one may not think of? Also do you reccomend going out on the ATV’S as opposwed to staying with the tour?
Thank you
Gene

You need to bring the essentials for your land trip, a good pair of shoes, some sturdy jeans, and a medium sweater at the very least. Are you staying in Denali National Park? If you would like to see inside Denali I absolutely recommend taking the bus ride into Denali. You take a bus into the National Park and it is a once in a lifetime experience.
Depending on your lodging you may not even be going into the park, the ATV’s don’t go inside. They go around other parts outside the Park Entrance.
The ATV’s are amazing and incredibly ‘Alaskan’. It is a favorite of locals and visitors alike, and I plan on doing it when I head up there. If you have the time I would do it. If you do a search through the blogs you can see the Packing List we have posted up here.
Hope this helps!
